News Bulletins

Here is you can find changes in the law or news as we receive. It is advisable you check back often.

Business Licenses

It has come to our attention that the City of Los Angeles is avidly searching out those companies operating within the confines of the city. They are notifying all businesses that a license is needed and that the company must pay appropriate taxes if it is doing business in Los Angeles. If you receive a letter and do not respond, they are automatically levying an assessment based on an ‘estimate’ of the income you generate from business activities.

If you have a company doing business in Los Angeles and have not applied for and received a business license, it is imperative you do so. You may contact the appropriate party by writing to:

City of Los Angeles, Office of Finance
RMS Tax Discovery Unit
PO Box 53234
Los Angeles, CA 90053-0234

Or you may call them at (213) 744-9770.

We also encourage you to check with any city you are doing business in to see if they require you to hold a business license. This will avoid future problems for you and your business.
